HOME

The Loft Theatre at the base of the White Hills Ski Resort is the home to THE NEW CURTAIN THEATRE COMPANY, Clarenville's first and only professional theatre company. In collaboration with the Town of Clarenville, Service Canada and the Alpine Development Ski Association, NCTC has moved into and renovated the once abandoned ski-chalet to become the first of Clarenville's cultural facilities. It's goal is to produce various offerings of performance from full professional productions to community and youth presentations along with theatrical training for the general public. Hosting of other professionals in other sectors of the industry is also on its roster of activities.

Youth Acting Studio

Come to the beauty that is White Hills and enjoy the fun of what it means to "take to the stage" .

Not everyone has the brawn of a hockey player or the musical pipes to play the trombone. Some people just like to act -- and aren't those the coolest ones? If you like the stage, if you like playing a role, if you like the spotlight, then you’ll love what we have to offer here at New Curtain's Youth Acting Studio.

(Two Groups - ages 6 to 10 AND ages 11 to 17)

WINTER SESSION - Starting January 28st

12 pm - 2:00 pm (Ages 6 to 12)

4 pm - 6 pm (Ages 13 - 17)

$150 per session - 8 weeks

Theatre Policies

Latecomers – A Friendly Reminder
In order to ensure an enjoyable theatre experience for all, latecomers will not be seated until there is a suitable break in the performance, and will be seated where it will not interfere with the other patrons’ enjoyment of the performance.

Scents & Sensibility
Many patrons are bothered by strong scents; some have severe allergic reactions. Please limit your use of scented products before coming to the theatre.

Also please refrain from opening candy wrappers during the performance. We area a small venue and this can be bothersome to other patrons and the actors.

Cameras, audio and video recordings are prohibited at all performances.
Some musical concert performers allow photos. Please respect their requests.

Please Remember:
● Please check your tickets for curtain time and date
● Please turn off all cellular phones and pagers during performances*
● Be comfortable. Some people dress up; some people do not.
●New Curtain Theatre is a smoke free environment.

* If you are anticipating an emergency call, you may leave your pager or cell phone with the House Manager.
