OUR IN-HOUSE ACTOR TRAINING
Why not come out and explore the world of performance. Our studios are for all ages and all levels of experience. Don't be nervous as well are all here to learn. Come out and spring in to action with our beginner classes. Keep an eye out for our surprise "free" workshops as well.
Our Artistic Director has years of acting experience in Film, Television and Theatre and has taught in Vancouver at the Wm Davis Centre for Actors Study and the Vancouver Film School.
Geoff has also worked on such programs as Dead Zone, The Twilight Zone, Rockpoint PD and Still Life. He has recntly appeared on the made for TV film of DIVERTED - about events surrounding 9-11 and the town of Gander. His most recent role is in the CBC series 2 of REPUBLIC OF DOYLE. His experience in live theatre is extensive from Vancouver to Newfoundland and he is one of three founding producers in the recently acclaimed New World Theatre Project in Cupids, NL.

The first step into a world of fun…
NCTC's program for children and teens combines basic training in theatre with creative expression. Students will explore how plays work and how characters come alive, while building confidence, self-awareness and creative skills. We know that perform in front of an audienc can be very daunting and we take things one step at a time to make it feel like a very safe environment
We know that taking their first step into the performing arts may seem a bit daunting for some children, but at New Curtain we encourage them to, bit-by-bit, embrace the fear and have fun discovering their talents.

Not everyone has the brawn of a hockey player or the musical pipes to play the trombone. Some people just like to act -- and aren't those the coolest ones? ADULT ACTING STUDIO

NCTC's studio offers classes for students of all ages - from 18 to 81. Adults attend New Curtain Theatre classes for all kinds of reasons - fun, experience, curiosity, or to simply pursue something they've always wanted to do. You can take your acting to the next level start out afresh or explore new theatre skills. This class is perfect for those who want serious training and more challenging exercises. This course develops students’ performance skills as they progress to scripted scene work.
Unlike many other acting courses which throw participants straight into acting monologues and scenes, we use a technique based around play - having fun, increasing confidence and growing together as a group, in confidence and skills. So in many ways it’s an adventure that leads to new discoveries and will certainly challenge you, but not in a way that that you find intimidating.
Acting Studio provides a safe, supportive environment where you will explore improvisation, movement, voice work, character development and dramatic analysis. This is a great creative outlet, and a wonderful way to unlock the drama within. The most beautiful house in the world won’t stand without a proper foundation, and the same is true for acting. Discover what supports the performance of every good actor. No previous experience is necessary.
